| This joint project with Fine Cast Models of Germany, depicts the massive Ex Gneisenau Battlecruiser turrets emplaced as Battey Fjell (MAA 11/504) and battery Öerlandet (MAA 4/507) in Norway. The turrets mounted three 28cm (11 inch) SK C/34 Guns housed on top of five level deep underground bunkers. This model was designed and produced by Rob Tearle, and features movable guns, opening ejector ports and rear door, etched brass handrails, crew ladders and barrel rifling. The top part of the bunker is also included along with some spent ammunition cases. The bunker is 230mm (9") in diameter, and the length from the gun muzzles to the turret rear is 270mm (10.5"). As 1/76th scale models go, if you wish the most impressive bunker to date....this is it! |
