This massive 50-Ton Drawbar trailer was produced by Dyson/ Cranes for use with the Diamond-T, Mighty Antar and Scammell Commander Ballasted Tractors. It appeared in it's original form in 1944 and was used for over 40 years!
Intended for the movement of large AFV's up to 50-Ton weight class, the FV3601 No-1 Mk-3 trailer was the standard post-WW2 unit for moving later marks of Churchill, all Centurion based AFV's, and all NATO MBT's of thier era. The chassis is supported on 4 articulating axles with 4 sets of twin wheels....each!
The trailer was adopted by many countries who used the Centurion tank (for which the trailer was designed) and in particular Israel who obtained a considerable number for thier SHOT fleet.
This 1/35th scale resin model kit by David Jane and Rob Tearle features fully articulating suspension, etched detail set, full colour decals, load blocks, chocks and load tie-down set. |
