The Austin K2 Auxilliary Towing Vehicle (ATV) was built for the UK National Fire Service (NFS) in WW-2. It was the most famous (and numerous) fire appliance in service during the 'Blitz'. The Coventry Climax 'FSM' Type trailer pump was a petrol driven fire pump for boosting low water pressure or for suction delivery from ponds or rivers, and pumping out flooded basements. The pump can be removed from the trailer by hand and is narrow enough to fit through a standard house doorway. Both equipments served on for many years post war.
This extensive 1/35th scale resin model by David Jane and Derek Hansen comprises both ATV and trailer pump, and comes complete with two sets of extending ladders, vehicle hose ramps, flexible rubber suction and delivery hoses, stretchers, couplings, hydrant and 'T' Bar. We have also included a sunken water main for a diorama base. An extensive etched brass detail set is also included as is a set of full colour decals. |
